Prof.Uma Jaiswal
Prof. Uma Jaiswal had her school and college education in Delhi . She joined Department of Botany, University of Delhi for her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. She was appointed as a Lecturer in Botany in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Banaras Hindu University in 1974 and superannuated as a Professor in Botany.
Prof. Uma Jaiswal has been an active researcher in the area of Plant Morphogenesis and has published many research papers in reputed journals as well as guided research students for their Ph. D. degree. Her area of research includes Micropropagation of Tropical fruit trees, Regeneration of stress tolerant plants and In vitro conservation of forest trees.
During her long stay inside the campus of Banaras Hindu University she was greatly impressed by the flora and fauna of the campus ,particularly the beautiful large native trees. The creation of this web is a result of her great admiration for nature.
